With a Little Help from my Friends
This was one of the very last songs John Lennon and Paul McCartney sat down and wrote together in a true collaboration. They were at Paul’s house messing around on the piano.
I Want To Hold Your Hand
The recording was completed in 17 takes. The Beatles spent some time rehearsing the song before the tapes began rolling, and according to Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn, take one was largely the same as the final version. It was also the group's first American number one.
Can’t Buy Me Love
When pressed by American journalists in 1966 to reveal the song's "true" meaning, McCartney stated that "I think you can put any interpretation you want on anything, but when someone suggests that 'Can't Buy Me Love' is about a prostitute, I draw the line." He went on to say: "The idea behind it was that all these material possessions are all very well, but they won't buy me what I really want."
I Will
‘I Will’ is a song released by The Beatles on their self titled album, The Beatles. This was one of the songs which they worked on while on their trip to India, however, it was not finished until they started recording it back in London.
Twist And Shout
Twist And Shout continued to be part of The Beatles' live set following the release of their Please Please Me album. It was the final song at their Sunday Night at the London Palladium performance on 13 October 1963, which was thought to signal the start of Beatlemania.
